<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and an output management server that allow a user to specify a suitable data output device and to output a content. <P>SOLUTION: The content output system includes (1) a content management server including a content storage part which stores a content provided by a content provider so that the content can be browsed, a content management part which accepts a browsing request and an output request from a terminal, an output data generation part which generates output data in a predetermined format, and an upstream communication part which transmits the output data to outside; (2) an output management server including an intermediate communication part which receives the output data from the content management server and an output destination management part which receives an output destination specification; and (3) a data output device including a control part which receives the output data from the output management server and controls operation of the output part.
