<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately detecting misalignment of a line interval in an image processing device employing an electrophotographic system, and to suppress uneven density caused by the misalignment amount of the line interval. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus employing an electrophotographic system includes: pattern image forming means forming a pattern image including two main scanning lines adjoining to each other; density detecting means detecting the density of the pattern image; first calculation means calculating a misalignment amount of a line interval in the main scanning lines by misalignment of a laser beam, based on the density; second calculation means calculating a misalignment amount of the line interval in the main scanning lines by a polygon mirror based on the results by the density detecting means and the first calculation means; and correcting means correcting the misalignment by associating with the main scanning lines and the polygon mirror based on the results by the first calculation means and the second calculation means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
