A method for manufacturing water-soluble metal-containing composition with biocide properties comprises the reducing of silver ion in aqueous solution of sodium or ammonium polyacrylate using ascorbic acid or other reducing agent that is nontoxic to humans and animals, producing non-toxic products of oxidation and containing nanoparticles of silver. The concentration of metal-containing composition is increased and silver nanoparticles are produced with smaller sizes.
