PURPOSE: A friction stir welding control device is provided to improve the position and height of a base material using information on the cross section and plane shapes of the base material before welding of a rotary tool, thereby improving welding quality. CONSTITUTION: A friction stir welding control device comprises a laser scanner(210), a seam controller(300), and a welding controller. The laser scanner moves along with the transfer of a rotary tool(10) and obtains information on the cross section of a seam portion of a base material. The seam controller determines the center and height of the cross section of the seam portion of the base material from the information of the laser scanner and calculates a displacement correction value for the rotary tool to be output to the welding controller. The welding controller corrects the transfer trajectory of the rotary tool using the displacement correction value.
