A computer-implemented system for a child aged about 1 to about 10 years comprising: means for engaging a digital processing device to provide visual and audio content of at least three subjects appropriate for the child, wherein each subject comprises a plurality of levels of learning; means for engaging the digital processing device to provide a plurality of activities associated with each subject, wherein the plurality of activities teaches toward one or more educational objectives in a subject, wherein the plurality of activities is substantially free of activities not teaching toward one or more educational objectives in a subject; means for engaging the digital processing device to monitor the progress of the child in each of the subjects; means for engaging the digital processing device to reward the child for completing an activity; and means for engaging the digital processing device to create an avatar to represent the child.
