A method for feed-forward controlling fuel injection into a cylinder of an internal combustion engine

Disclosed is a method for feed-forward controlling fuel injection into a cylinder 10 of an internal com­bustion engine. The method comprises the steps of: setting a desired value of a combustion parameter within the cylinder 10, determining a value of one or more engine operating parameters, using both of those parameters to determine a value of a parameter which determines the amount of fuel injected into the cylinder 1 and commanding a fuel injector 40 associated to the cylinder 10 to perform the required fuel injection. The method may also include a feed-back loop for correcting the parameters obtained from the feed-forward control process.
