PURPOSE: An image obtaining apparatus having a smoke vision function and a method thereof are provided to display an image which removes smoke from a photographed image. CONSTITUTION: An image processing unit(60) converts an analog image signal of a camera into a digital image signal. The image processing unit improves the image through the detection of the smoke within an image of the digital image signal. A display unit(30) displays improved digital image data. A controlling unit(10) displays the image on the display unit.
