PURPOSE: A portable terminal and operating method thereof are provided to improve the convenience of a user by providing the touch window of a capacitance method. CONSTITUTION: A first touch sheet(312) senses pressure changed by a touch signal and is arranged at the side of a transparent window layer(314). A second touch sheet(316) senses the change of capacitance and is arranged at the rear side of the transparent window layer. The transparent window layer includes a second window layer which is arranged at the rear side of the first touch sheet and the first transparent window layer. An FPCB(Flexible Printed Circuit Board)(220) is arranged at the rear side of the second touch sheet and connects the first and the second touch sheet with the body of a portable terminal.
