<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket forming device which forms a socket at the time of molding while preventing entering of sand into the socket and a sprue, and a molding device of a taper flask mold. <P>SOLUTION: The socket forming device that forms the socket used for the molding device of the taper flask mold includes a fitting part for integration with an upper squeezing plate, a tapered slope formation part which is integrally provided with the fitting part from the fitting part toward the lower side, for forming the slope of the socket, an insert part which is so formed as to penetrate as far as the end face of the fitting part from the tip of the slope formation part, allowing insertion of a gate rod that forms the gate, and a peripheral wall part which is positioned outside a base end, being on the base end side of the slope formation part, and formed so as to rise, with a wall surface facing outside.
