A rotor for a magneto generator mounted on a vehicle includes a yoke 11 in which are housed a multiplicity of magnets 12 and which has one end open with an annular seaming rim 19 forming the periphery thereof. A cover 14 is mounted on the inside of the magnets inside the yoke and includes an upper edge 43 extending radially outwards. This upper edge exhibits at an intermediate section a setback bent towards the inside of the yoke. During seaming, the seaming rim 19 is bent radially inwards and thus pushes the forward end of this edge radially inwards. Thereby, a portion of the upper edge is deformed and becomes applied against the upper faces of the magnets, thus fixing them in the yoke. <IMAGE>
