The present invention provides a method for producing a polyarylene sulfide resin composition having a reduced flashing defect, a high flowability, a high quality and a low content of chlorine. Specifically, polyarylene sulfide resin composition having a melt viscosity of 150 to 330 Pa·s (at a temperature of 310°C and a shear rate of 1200/sec) and a chlorine amount of 950 ppm or less is produced by melt kneading (A) poly(arylene sulfide) resin, (B) inorganic filler and (C) alkoxysilane compound, taking following steps: supplying (A) poly(arylene sulfide) resin having a melt viscosity of 80 to 400 Pa·s (at a temperature of 310°C and a shear rate of 1200/sec) and a chlorine content of 1000 to 2000 ppm through (1) raw material-feeding port of a particular extruder, and extruding it through two kneading zones [shear rate 1/sec x kneading time (sec) = 1600-6000]. |
