Disclosed is an assembly (20) for location at an opening of a receptacle. The assembly (20) comprises a lid (30) and an envelope opening means. An envelope (45) containing a substance is attached to the lid (30). The envelope opening means includes an insert (35) that is positioned in a neck of the receptacle (15). The envelope opening means includes a protrusion (65) coupled to an actuator. The movement of the lid (30) relative to the insert (35) operates the actuator and this causes the protrusion (65) to open the envelope (45) and release the substance into the receptacle.
