<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical stapling device for performing circular anastomosis. <P>SOLUTION: The surgical stapling device 10 includes: a handle portion 12; an elongated body portion 14 distally extending from the handle portion; and a head portion 16 including an anvil assembly 30 and a shell assembly 31 for housing a plurality of staples, wherein the anvil assembly is movable between a gap portion of the elongated body portion and a proximal portion of the elongated body portion with respect to the shell assembly; an approximation mechanism having an anvil retainer for releasably engaging the anvil assembly; and a retractable trocar assembly which has a trocar slidably supported by the anvil retainer, and is movable within a trocar retractive portion positioned in the anvil retainer up to an advanced portion extending from the anvil retainer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
