<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long thermal platemaking device using a plurality of short thermal heads (TPHs) and having superior platemaking quality in a seam of the adjacent TPHs with no trouble in terms of manufacturing. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of TPHs including heat-generating elements 6 are staggered alternately in first and second positions in a sub scanning direction along a main scanning direction, and the heat-generating elements 6 at respective ends of adjacent two TPHs are overlapped in the main scanning direction to form an overlapped part 7. Because the heat-generating elements of the overlapped part of the TPH at the first position and the heat-generating elements 6 of the TPH at the second position are alternatively and alternately selected and driven in synchronization with the conveyance of a thermal stencil paper, the seam is invisible in the platemaking by the overlapped platemaking part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
