METHOD OF ANALYSIS AND OUTPUT OF HIERARCHICAL STRUCTURE, INFORMATION PROCESSOR THEREFOR, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output and display an entire claim structure representing relations among claims defined in Claims or the like included in a patent application so that their hierarchical structure can be understood easily.

SOLUTION: A method of analyzing and outputting a hierarchical structure includes the steps of: extracting two-level citation relations (a hierarchical structure) from descriptions of respective claims in input patent Claims (step 1-1); creating a set of initial roots based the relations (step 1-2); creating a set of complete roots comprising complete roots including one or more claims from an independent claim to an ending claim and their sequence based on the set of roots (step 1-3); and determining an output space and position between the roots based on the set of complete roots and outputting an entire claim structure based on the information determined (step 1-4).
