PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce process tact time and block light which passes an active layer of a thin film transistor, thereby reducing the influence of photo leakage currents. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises the following units. A gate electrode(120) is formed on a channel part of a substrate. The gate electrode is made of a first metal layer(113) and a second metal layer(115). A lower pixel electrode is formed on a transmission part(2A) of the substrate. The lower pixel electrode is made of a first metal layer. A first bump(140) is made of first and second metal layers. The first bump is formed on a first bump part(3A) of the substrate. A first insulating film covers the gate electrode, the lower pixel electrode, and the first bump. An active layer is formed on the first insulating film corresponding to the channel part. A source electrode and a drain electrode are formed on the active layer. A second insulating film covers the source electrode, the drain electrode, and the first insulating film. A first contact hole exposes the lower pixel electrode. A second contact hole exposes the first bump. A third metal layer is divided into several parts on the second insulating film. |
