<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a junction box for a metal duct and a method of fitting the same capable of mounting a metal duct without cutting so as to rationalize work efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A junction box for a metal duct includes a box body 10 comprised of a bottom plate 11 and a side plate 12. A cover 20 for detachably covering an opening of the box body 10 is included therein. On a side plate 12 of the box body 10, a connection port 13 having a rectangular shape corresponding to an edge diameter of a metal duct R is provided. A pair of the connection ports 13 are formed on the side plates 12 facing to each other in the box body 10. A part of each connection port 13 is arranged so as to be adjacent to the bottom plate 11. On the bottom of the side plates 12, the bottom plate 11 is detachably fixed. The box body 10 is configured such that the bottom plate 11 overlaps the bottom of the metal duct R inserted in the connection port 13 of the side plate 12. The box body 10 is mounted along the metal duct R.
