In data communication between multiple devices, the disclosed relay system distributes the load on a device originating data transmission. The relay system includes multiple devices and a relay device which relays data communication between the multiple devices. The multiple devices are provided with a transmission unit for transmitting data and a receiving unit for receiving data. The relay device is provided with a storage unit which stores information specifying the relayed data along with information specifying the source from which said data was received, and a determining unit which, in response to an acquisition request for specific data from a specific device, determines on the basis of the information of the storage unit the transmission source device of the specific data.
