The conference room unit (200) is provided with a network controller (205) for receiving and/or transmitting the digital transmission signal via the external remote data transmission line (301, 303). At least two data channels are present, either together in one line or in a bundle comprising a plurality of lines. Via at least one control line (302, 303), the network controllers (105, 205) are connected to each other and additionally to a network control unit (325).
