PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noise reduction device, capable of performing high quality stable control under environment which includes an obstacle, by solving the problem that, noise reduction device installed in a passenger seat in an airplane etc. may give a user a sense of incongruity, as noise becomes larger than when noise reduction control is not performed, depending on obstacle generation condition. SOLUTION: The noise reduction device includes: a filter 90 for controlling, which generates a control sound signal for canceling noise; a control speaker 41 which outputs control sound based on the control sound signal from the filter 90 for controlling; an error microphone 51 for detecting remaining sound by superimposing noise with the control sound which is output from the control speaker 41; and an obstacle detection unit 51S for detecting the obstacle around the error microphone 51.
