PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous detection of respective sensors while miniaturizing the whole of a device even where two rotary magnets different in magnetizing direction are provided. SOLUTION: This magnetic detector 5 includes: a first magnetic sensor 11 for detecting the magnetic field of a first rotary magnet 3 by using a first magnetoresistive effect element 14, the rotary magnet 3 being turnably mounted on a rotary shaft 2 while having N poles and S poles radially formed thereon by being alternately magnetized; and a second magnetic sensor 12 for detecting the magnetic field of a second rotary magnet 4 by using a second magnetoresistive effect element 16, the rotary magnet 4 being turnably mounted on the rotary shaft 2 while having N poles and S poles formed thereon in the rotation axis direction by being alternately magnetized. The magnetic sensors 11 and 12 are provided on the same substrate 13 with the sensitivity axis direction of the effect element 14 made orthogonal to the sensitivity axis direction of the effect element 16.
