PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a font type to be used in composition based on a recognized character without using a recognition dictionary. SOLUTION: The subject is achieved by an image processing apparatus including: recognition for performing character recognition from image data; selection for selecting font information based on the character type of a candidate character that is a recognition result in the recognition; composition for composing the recognition result in the recognition based on the font information selected in the selection; and correction for correcting the recognition result in the recognition based on a result of composition in the composition.
