摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer film which is useful as an optical compensation film of a liquid crystal display device, and which is free from coloring. <P>SOLUTION: The polymer film contains at least one polymer as a main component and at least one compound satisfying relational formulae (1) and (2) in an amount of 0.2-20 mass% with respect to at least the one polymer, wherein in-plane retardation Re(&lambda;) at a wavelength of &lambda; nm and thickness-direction retardation Rth(&lambda;) at a wavelength of &lambda; nm respectively satisfy relational formulae (3)-(6): (1) 360 nm&le;&lambda;max&le;400 nm; (2) &lambda;<SB>1/2</SB>-&lambda;max&le;20 nm (in the relational formulae, &lambda;max represents a maximum absorption wavelength (in nm) of the compound, and &lambda;<SB>1/2</SB>represents a wavelength with absorption intensity equal to a half of that at &lambda;max (where &lambda;max<&lambda;<SB>1/2</SB>)); (3): Re(450)-Re(550)&le;0 nm; (4) Rth(450)-Rth(550)&ge;0 nm; (5): 60 nm&le;Re(550)&le;100 nm; and (6) 40 nm&le;Rth(550)&le;80 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
