PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument for preventing climbing-up of liana, capable of inhibiting short-circuit accidents caused from the plant and maintenance work hindrance by positively guiding the plant downward to further ensuring the plant to be reduced in climbing-up resulting from its coiling around the supporting wire or the like of a utility pole. SOLUTION: The instrument 10 for preventing climbing-up of liana is provided, being designed to prevent a liana P from climbing-up through being installed on the utility pole-supporting wire S in the posture of being extended from the ground upward. The instrument 100 includes: a body part that is cylindrically formed so as to have a sidewall surface part 12 facing on the surroundings thereof and have a ceiling surface part 13 extended inwardly from the top of the sidewall surface part 12 and closed; wherein the body part has an opened peephole 21 via which external sunlight is guided into in the vicinity of the circumferential rim as the boundary between the sidewall surface part and the ceiling surface part, and in the proximity of the peephole 21, a rod-like member 22 extended from the outer surface of the body part outward and bent downward by deflecting by its own weight is fixedly set.
