PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the printing quality of rear end part of recording paper where influence of suction of ink by a suction hole easily appears without lowering the printing quality of the other part in an inkjet printer having a conveying mechanism for conveying the recording paper, a platen for attracting and holding the recording paper P conveyed by the conveying mechanism via the suction hole, and a print head H having a plurality of head units 13a, 13b arranged so as to line in the conveying direction of the recording paper P and discharging ink. SOLUTION: The recording paper P is conveyed a predetermined quantity k smaller than a unit conveying quantity T, printing is carried out by only an upstream side head unit 13a when the conveying stops, the recording paper P is conveyed only differential quantity between the unit conveying quantity T an the predetermined quantity k after the printing, and printing is carried out by only a downstream side head unit 13b when the conveying stops, when the upstream side head unit 13a carries out the printing to the rear end predetermined area U of the recording paper P.
