PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue execution of a data broadcast application linked to a program even after the program ends. SOLUTION: A digital broadcast receiving apparatus comprises: a receiving means which receives broadcast program data including a data broadcast application and subsidiary information, executes the data broadcast application using the subsidiary information including application control information that indicates whether to end the execution of the data broadcast application by an execution unit when a program included in broadcast program data being reproduced has been changed to another program, and receives an instruction to continue the execution of the data broadcast application even after a program included in the broadcast program data being reproduced ends; and a change unit which, when the application control information indicates "end" of the application and the receiving means receives the continuation instruction, changes the application control information so as not to end the application before the program included in the broadcast program data being reproduced ends.
