<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a catalyst for cleaning diesel exhaust gas, the catalyst having the activity higher than that of the previous catalyst for cleaning diesel exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the catalyst for cleaning the diesel exhaust gas includes steps of: putting carrier powder which comprises zirconium oxide or cerium-zirconium compound oxide containing 5-50 mass% cerium oxide, in the solution of a soluble silver compound and agitating them to obtain slurry; adding a reductant to the slurry to reduce the silver compound into Ag and stick the obtained Ag onto a carrier; drying the obtained slurry; and firing the dried Ag-stuck carrier in an oxidative atmosphere to obtain the catalyst for cleaning diesel exhaust gas, which has high activity and low balance point temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
