The invention relates to a backup method for saving, by a first device, the activity of a target program hosted on a second. A program hosted in this first device is in charge of receiving and of recording all or part of the activity of the target program. In order to restore the target program following for example an interruption, or in order to rerent its past activity, the invention also proposes a method of restoring this backup.
