PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method of a dust concentration in gas capable of measuring the dust concentration in gas to be measured, and to provide an operation method of a combustion facility. SOLUTION: A dust concentration measuring device for irradiating the gas 12 to be measured with laser pulse 11, and measuring the dust concentration in the gas 12 to be measured from generated Mie scattered light 30 is used, and a measurement state of the laser pulse 11 is monitored by an output meter, and a signal intensity of the Mie scattered light is measured continuously by a photodetector 31 for Mie scattering, and in laser output meters (a measuring output meter 15A, a reference output meter 15B), it is determined whether or not the result is within a prescribed set threshold range of a prescribed unit time in output of the laser pulse per unit pulse of the laser pulse 11. In the case within the threshold range, measurement data are determined to be accepted, and on the contrary, in the case out of the threshold range, the measurement data are determined to be rejected.
