PURPOSE: A head-end cable modem and a method for verifying upstream allocation algorithm are provided to use upstream band efficiently, by performing performance verification of the algorithm. CONSTITUTION: A head-end cable modem MAC management sub module(220) receives a command to select an upstream band allocation algorithm of a head-end cable modem. The head-end cable modem MAC management sub module generates an upstream band allocation message. The head-end cable modem MAC management sub module transmits the upstream band allocation message to a head-end cable modem MAC control sub module(230). The head-end cable modem MAC control sub module transmits a response to the upstream band allocation message to the head-end cable modem MAC management sub module. The head-end cable modem MAC control sub module provides the response from the head-end cable modem MAC control sub module to an operator(210). The operator performs the upstream band allocation algorithm. |
