The dish washer has a pivoting, self-locking door (1), a pivot drive (19) connected with the door and a drive control (20) for the pivot drive. The drive control and the pivot drive are formed for the purpose of holding the door self-locked in a pivot angle range by a change in the force applied on the doors by the pivot drive. A sensor (22) is provided for detecting the pivot position of the door.
