PURPOSE: A power supply device is provided to suppress the rise of power consumption by reducing the standby power of an electronic device. CONSTITUTION: A power supply unit(106) receives utility voltage and converts the utility voltage into a DC voltage of a proper level. A standby power supply unit(108) receives utility voltage and provides the standby power of the proper level. At least one switching unit(104) is provided to a utility power supply unit, the power supply unit, and the standby power supply unit. A signal selecting unit detects a power supply mode signal or standby mode signal from an electronic device(112) and selectively turns on and off the switching unit. The signal selecting unit selectively provides the DC voltage or standby power of a proper level to the electronic device. |
