[Also in Division E2] An assembly for frictionally securing the end of a strap 4 comprises a pair of bearing plates 6 in spaced relation and connected by three pins 11, 12, 13 and a brace 8 extending between the plates, the brace comprising two saddlestrips joined to form a tubular middle 9 for receiving the threaded shank 5 of a hook 1. The line of pull 14 of the strap extends tangentially to the outermost pin 13 and passes through the pin 11, the intermediate pin 12 lying on the opposite side of the pull line to the pin 13, a loop 15 of the strap 4 passing round the pin 12 to form two plies 16, 17 passing round the pin 11 and then between the pins 12, 13 so as to bear on the loop 15. |
