摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method which, when a silane water absorption preventing agent is roller-applied to a civil engineering and construction structure, makes dripping be suppressed, the surface be coated uniformly, permeability and surface water repellency be excellent, and a residue on the surface of a substrate after drying be removed easily. SOLUTION: A water absorption preventing agent composition for civil engineering and construction includes an alkyl alkoxysilane and/or its condensate, silica (B), and 0.1-10 pts.wt. of a modified silicone (C). The composition having a viscosity at a shear rate of 4 s<SP>-1</SP>and 25°C of 1,000-60,000 mPa s in which the ratio between viscosity at a shear rate of 1 s<SP>-1</SP>and viscosity at a shear rate of 4 s<SP>-1</SP>is 1.8-4.0 is used to be applied by using a roller.
