PURPOSE: A method for handover data integrity in a mobile communication system and the mobile communication system thereof are provided to ensure the data integrity during handover. CONSTITUTION: A target BS(Base Station) receives an initial access request message from an MS(Mobile Station)(312), and the target BS performs negotiation for a handover data integrity path setup with a serving BS through a serving ASN-GW(Access Service Network-Gateway)(313). The target generates a first handover data integrity path and a main data path with a serving ASN-GW according to the negotiation result(332), and the service ASN-GW generates a second handover data integrity path with the service base station according to the negotiation result(342).
