PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for recording backup data of an image or the like, recorded on a label surface of a disk, on a data surface. SOLUTION: The information processing device has: a data recording part to conduct data recording on the data surface of a disk; a label surface recording part to record visible data on the label surface of the disk; and a control part to conduct control for recording backup data of the data recorded on the label surface by the label surface recording part on the data surface. The control part conducts control to record data such as a visible image or the like on the label surface of the disk and to record the original data of the recorded data as the backup data on the data surface of the disk.
