In the provided ship resistance-reduction device, a gas-containing chamber is disposed inside the hull of the ship and extends in the direction of the width of the ship, straddling a longitudinal frame. A diffusion material is disposed inside the gas-containing chamber and extends in the direction of the width of the ship, straddling the longitudinal frame. Air blown into the gas-containing chamber from an air-supply pipe hits the diffusion material and diffuses in the direction of the width of the ship, and is then blown into the water from an air-blowing hole formed in the bottom surface of the gas-containing chamber. Since the gas-containing chamber extends in the direction of the width of the ship, straddling the longitudinal frame, it is possible for a single gas-containing chamber to form a bubble stream that is wide in the direction of the width of the ship. This reduces the number of gas-containing chambers needed to form a bubble stream that covers the entire width of the bottom of the ship, and reduces the number of air-supply pipes, which are provided for each gas-containing chamber.
|
