<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reforming catalyst for use in producing hydrogen exhibiting high hydrogen-production capability even in a steam reforming reaction carried out at a low temperature, capable of effectively producing hydrogen by suppressing adverse influence of sulfur poisoning and carbon deposition on the catalyst itself, on a reformer, and on units disposed downstream of the reformer, and by shortening a start-up time required in starting hydrogen production. <P>SOLUTION: The reforming catalyst for use in producing hydrogen including an inorganic titania-containing composite-oxide support, at least one species of noble metal selected from ruthenium, rhodium, and platinum as an active metallic component, and at least one species of transition metal selected from nickel and cobalt as an auxiliary catalytic component, is characterized in that the specific surface area of the support is 310 m<SP>2</SP>/g or greater and the noble metal is dispersed in the inorganic composite-oxide support at a degree of dispersion of 60% or greater. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
