<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality determining device for a filter, improving the accuracy in determining abnormality of the filter by properly determining a frozen state of a differential pressure pipe. <P>SOLUTION: The abnormality determining device 1 for the filter 8 determines based on a differential pressure DP between an upstream pressure and a downstream pressure of the filter 8 whether or not the filter 8 is abnormal. When an internal combustion engine 3 is determined to be in a specific operation state, the abnormality determining device determines based on the detected differential pressure DP whether or not the differential pressure pipe 6a is in a frozen state.
