<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To practically enable wavelength sensing specifically to ultraviolet light, by attaining improvement in the twin control and twin growth with a high aspect ratio in a quartz crystal. <P>SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a pseudo-phase matching conversion element makes the base material of the quartz crystal cyclically inducing the twin by applying stress; and when stress is applied to a quartz crystal substrate being the base material, the temperature between two planes orthogonal in the direction of stress application is a quartz crystal phase transition point or lower to provide the temperature difference between the two planes. A step structure is formed on the surface of a quartz crystal substrate side or on the surface of stress application side with a period for attaining the desired wavelength conversion; and when the temperature of the step structure side between the two planes orthogonal in the direction of the stress application is T1, and the temperature of the other side is T2, T1>T2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
