PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a profile for a belt, whose fall is prevented when located on the outer periphery side of a toothed pulley, and to provide the belt with the profile. SOLUTION: A profile body 4 is arranged on the back side of the toothed belt 3. A clamp 5 is arranged at a side edge 3a of the toothed belt 3 on the tooth face side. While a locking pawl 7 of the clamp 5 to belt teeth 6, the toothed belt 3 is clamped at its side edge 3a between the profile body 4 and the clamp 5. A circular belt abutting face 8 is formed on the clamp 5. When the profile 1 is located on the outer periphery side of the toothed pulley 2, the belt abutting face 8 abuts on tooth addendums 12 of the toothed belt 2 to prevent the fall of the profile 1.
