PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display panel which can obtain a required contrast ratio by optimizing a voltage waveform applied in one display unit. SOLUTION: In the image display panel wherein an image display medium is enclosed between two substrates at least one of which is transparent, and is moved by applying an electric field to the image display medium, to display an image, (1) a gradient of voltage rise at a voltage having the highest gradient of density (or reflectivity)/driving voltage is≥1,000/sec and (2) the product between an area of one display unit and resistance applied to one display unit is≤2,500Ωm<SP>2</SP>.
