<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device and a communication system, capable of easily maintaining communication with an opposite side device even when a setting value relating to a TCP/IP is changed under the environment of being communicably connected with the opposite side device. <P>SOLUTION: In the network setting of an MFP, when the change of a TCP/IP setting value is instructed, the MFP transmits the transmission request 71 of an IP address to a BOX, and sets the IP address of the BOX transmitted from the BOX in response to such a value that the MFP and the BOX can perform data communication even when the setting value of the MFP is changed.
