Disclosed is a list of substituted biaryl piperazinyl-pyridine derivatives, or salts thereof, which all fall within formula I, as listed in the specification. Also disclosed are compounds of formula I or salts thereof where the substituents are as defined in the specification. These compounds are capsaicin receptor (VR1) modulators. Also disclosed is the use of the compounds to treat pain.
