<p>The locomotive has decentralized hybrid power packs (HPP) provided with a diesel engine, a transmission, an electric motor, a support frame and an energy storage. The hybrid power packs drive wheel sets of the locomotive, and are controlled separately, where entire traction power of the locomotive is varied in step by activating and deactivating the hybrid power packs. A hybrid drive converts movement energy into electrical energy by using a generator, where the electrical energy is stored in the energy storage.</p> |
