The process involves circulating compressed air through filtration units (2) then through a membrane separator of drying units (3). The dry air from the separator is expanded and the air is heated. The filtration units act in retention on units contaminating the air which traverse them. The separator acts by permeation to maintain the dew point constant at -40 degree Celsius. An independent claim is also included for a drying installation.
