PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser photodetector capable of being manufactured at low cost and accurately detecting the irradiation position of a line laser beam. SOLUTION: This laser photodetector 100 receives a line laser beam, projected horizontally or vertically and detects the irradiation position of the line laser beam. The laser photodetector 100 comprises a light-receiving area 2 for receiving the line laser beam, and a light-receiving element 11 that is disposed in the light-receiving area 2 and generates a current proportional to the light quantity received.
