PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently transmit a non-compression video signal in a long distance by using a public optical communication network.SOLUTION: Frame conversion portions 11-18 of a transmitter 1 input Dual Link HD-SDI signals, discard parity bits and staff bits of HANC data and pixel data, convert data sequences of the HD-SDI signals by SDI clocks into data sequences by SONET clocks and house the data sequences in an OC-192 frame for transmission to a wide area network 3. Frame reconversion portions 21-28 of a receiver 2 convert the data sequences by the SONET clocks into data sequences of the HD-SDI signals by the SDI clocks for the OC-192 frame received from the wide area network 3, reproduce data discarded in the transmitter 1, and generate the original Dual Link HD-SDI signals and output the generated signals. Thus, a non-compression SHV signal can be transmitted at a long distance by using an existing public optical communication network such as the wide area network 3 to achieve cost reduction. |
