<p>When a peripheral image is displayed under the state that a travelling speed of a vehicle is lower than a threshold value, the status of a required area in the periphery of the vehicle can be provided to a user without the necessity of switching display modes. In the image display system, when a travelling speed of a vehicle (9) becomes lower than a predetermined threshold value and the mode is changed to a front mode (M1), at the start of the front mode (M1), a highly versatile front/side mode (M11) is used, wherein both the front area and the side area of the vehicle (9) can be simultaneously displayed. The screen presented in the front/side mode (M11) can correspond to various assumed states such as when the vehicle approaching an intersection, passing near another vehicle, moving toward the roadside, etc., and thus, a user can confirm the status of a required area in the periphery of the vehicle (9) without the necessity of switching the display modes.</p> |
