PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoacoustic engine capable of achieving a low oscillation starting temperature and high sound intensity, and being miniaturized. SOLUTION: In this thermoacoustic engine 11 provided with a motor 2 generating oscillation by converting heat energy into acoustic energy in a loop tube 1 and composed of a heater 4, a regenerator 5 and a cooler 6, and a resonant tube 3 for promoting the oscillation, in the loop tube 1, the resonant tube 3 is disposed on a position within a range of 30-35% or 80-85% of the total length of the loop tube 1 in the direction of the heater 4 from the motor 2 as a starting point, in a primary mode of the oscillation.
